Censor board chairperson Leela Samson resigns on clearance of MSG; Govt refutes interference
Leela Samson has resigned as Chairperson of Central Board of Film Certification amidst reports that controversial film "Messenger of God" featuring Dera Saccha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in lead role has been cleared by Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT).

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore has said that final call in a film screening is of Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT). He said that there is no interference or coercion in the process. He added that Leela's resignation is a personal choice and therefore government has no reaction on it.
Following Censor Board Chief Leela Samson's resignation, 9 more board members resign.
