About the Speaker
What started as a hobby soon transitioned to a full-fledged career for well-acclaimed Photojournalist Dilip Banerjee. After working with India’s leading newspaper Times of India and India Today magazine, he finally opted to work free-lance. His passion towards photography has been well portrayed in the self authored book ‘Song of the Road’, a photo-documentation of three decades of his journey as a Photojournalist within India and abroad. His fascination for Afghanistan’s people, rich culture and architecture took him to the place in 2001. He has revisited the country several times and has recently returned from an Afghan tour for the India-Afghanistan Foundation  from December ‘11 to January’12.

About the Discussion
Dilip will share his passion towards photography and some methods and techniques of photography which have been developed by him. Afghanistan has always been a fascination for him and will be the highlight of the talk, with Dilip explaining the story behind some of his key photographic works. The presentation will be followed by an open platform discussion on the role of Photography and Afghanistan, a country so similar to ours, yet so different.
