M S Swaminathan calls for a corruption free society Eminent Agricultural Scientist Professor M S Swaminathan has said that the Indian Political System is a product of civil society, and elected representatives in Parliament work towards building a consensus on important national issues. In an exclusive interview to DD News he said that elections are fair and people must respect the institutions created through the electoral process. He said ultimately it was for every individual to make a change from within to create a corruption free society. On the impass regarding Anna Hazare's demands with regard to the Lokpal bill, he thanked the Gandhian leader for bringing the issue to the level of a Parliamentary standing committee to come out with a bill that accomodates the sense of the house. He said that all people should have sufficient respect for the Parliamentary system which reflects a very well written constitution.
