Secretary Pradeep Kumar a new Central Vigilance Commissioner

The name of a new Central Vigilance Commissioner (CVC) has been finalised. Secretary Pradeep Kumar a new Central Vigilance Commissioner.The formal announcement made by the Government.Leader of the Opposition Ms Sushma Swaraj, who is one of the three members of the high-level committee to select the CVC.The two other members of the selection committee are Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Home Minister P Chidambaram. The committee met in New Delhi this morning at the Prime Minister's residence. Talking to reporters after the meeting, Ms Swaraj said the candidates whose names have been shortlisted include Defence Secretary Pradeep Kumar, former Home Secretary G K Pillai and former Railway Board Memeber A P Mishra. The selection comes in the wake of removal of P J Thomas as CVC in connection with the Pamolein scam.
