No infiltration this year: Lt Gen J P Nehra

Nagrota (Jammu),Lt Gen Nehra,Saturday said,“There is no successful attempt of infiltration along LoC and on our side.There were few attempts none of infiltration were successful and they will not be successful.Since January this year,” General Officer Commanding (GOC), 16 Corps, Lt Gen J P Nehra told reporters at the launch of a plantation drive launch here,the militants will not be successful. Lt Gen Nehra said that multi-tier deployment, better surveillance devices, waning support to militancy, Pakistan’s internal situation and cooperation of local populace, police and administration were some of the reasons for “lull” on the borders and LoC.Nehra was replying to media on infiltrations, security situation, militants and lull on the Indo-Pak borders in South of Pir Panchal. If there is no infiltration, it does not mean that they are not attempting infiltrations. They are making attempts, he said, adding that, they are disturbed for not being successful in engineering infiltrations.Our people are alert. They will try to take benefit of bad weather conditions, but we will foil their attempts, Nehra added.“We have deployed surveillance devices, which can keep a watch in bad weather conditions and during the nights. We have set a multi-tier deployment system,” he said-Media agenies
