'Jan Sunvai' for UP farmers:Congress

Public Deliberation for land acquisition was held at Gandhi Peace foundation wherein were present Farmers from NOIDA and neighboring villages and the organizers kept the people suggesting their ideas for four -five hours as Public hearing. t Mr Salman Kurshid on the set of NDTV programme and after the deliberation on land acquisition act,our remarks were one line,maintain the solid touch with farmers with foremost application of Public hearing. (PTI) Congress today organised 'Jan Sunvai' at all the tehsils in Uttar Pradesh to hear complaints of farmers and others regarding land acquisition and inadequate compensation.Congress MLAs and other party leaders took part in the programme at all the tehsil headquarters, collecting complaints which would now be handed over to respective district magistrates for early disposal, party sources said. About 20 thousand complaints with regard to various anomalies including those related to land acquisition have been received, they said. UPCC president Rita Bahuguna Joshi who took part in one such programme in Bakshi Ka Talab here said 200 complaints have been received in the area alone, with people complaining about government's move to acquire land of farmers for extending the city limits. They also talked about anomalies in the old age and widow pension, besides PDS and police laxity in filing of FIRs, she said.
