BSP chief Mayawati address party cadre in Delhi

(PTI) Facing heat over land acquisition and alleged rape and murder of a teenager in a police station in Lakhimpur Kheri, UP Chief Minister Mayawati today signalled to her party cadre here to get ready for a long-term agitation to counter the Congress offensive against her government.Addressing her party cadres from Delhi at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium here, the BSP supremo alleged that while crimes are taking places in other states too, central bodies like the National Commission for Women and the National SC/ST Commission are only targeting her government, according to party sources. Her address to the party workers also assumes significance as she had recently said that BSP will raise the issue in Parliament for bringing a uniform land acquisition policy on the lines of the one introduced by her government recently.
