Participation of Muslim Women in Development Process The Government has said that a scheme for leadership development of minority women has been launched and is being implemented from 2010-11. Giving this information in written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, Shri Vincent H. Pala, Minister of State for Minority Affairs, said that the objective of the scheme is to empower and instil confidence in women, including Muslim women, by providing knowledge, tools and techniques for interacting with functionaries of Government, banks, etc. at all levels. Shri Pala said that the scheme has been approved for implementation during the 11th Five Year Plan with a revised allocation of Rs. 5 crore for 2010-11 and Rs. 15 crore for 2011-12 to cover 18,950 and 55,800 women trainees respectively. This scheme is applicable to all the States in the country.
