Germany beat India : Shastri U-21 Four Nation Eve Hockey

India go down fighting spirited game lost to Germany 2-1 thus ended  its race to play for  the title  in the 22nd Lal Bahadur Shastri Under-21 Four Nation Hockey Tournament at Major Dhyanchand Stadium,New Delhi   on Friday.Germany enters final take-on  New Zealand in the title clash on Saturday as New Zealand  beat Australia 3-1 in League match.

India playing aggressive  first half scoring in 12 th minute  through Jasjeet Kaur. Later Indian attack made valiant efforts but luck eluded Team India , Germany encountered  their first penalty corner in the nineteenth  minute. and save by Indian goalkeeper Sukhmani Virk kept Indian fans hope alive.

At the 35th minute,Germany converted short corner scoring a goal through Laura Saenger just  before the last minute of half time equalized for the Germans Team . India needed a draw to make the summit clash. Germans team thus kept their aggression just after  three minutes propel another penalty corner though  Laura Saebger  score a goal thus giving lead to German a 2-1.

India with lady luck not favouring  got chances but failed to gain their efforts in vain, in last 15 mintues with India got  three penalty corners missed goalpost.
 Indian coach BK Subramani said, “Equalizer goal was important . In 2nd half we missed open chances. We missed penalty corners as well. As compared to Germany, we are weak on penalty corner. We were playing very defensive because we were trying to keep the points. Tomorrow we will play with better game plan . We will be prepared mentally and motivate the girls for tomorrow’s match.”German coach Herbert Marc said, “Indians were playing very safe game with defense as their forte  but we were able to put pressure on them. After the 2-1 lead in 38th minute we were trying to get more and more goals. He further  added  Indian girls are technically very strong. He said tomorrow’s match we will  play aggressive hockey.
