FC Barcelona sets out to develop base in India

Euro-Spanish Champion football club  FC Barcelona  announced its Soccer Camps to youths with  grassroot development of the game in India with an ambitious talent pre-training and training for children in the age groups of 6-17 years.Programmed  FCBEscola technical team will come from Spain to oversee preparation and excution for all camps hosted in the country.   Xevi Marce, Director of FCB Escola, the feeder school to the club's world famous youth academy La Masia, disclosed this at a press conference in New Delhi.

The first sporting venture in India, the European and Spanish champion side will conduct a week-long football camp in the National Capital Region in January next year for youngsters between 6 and 14 years of age by FC Barcelona coaches.
FCBEscola director Xevi Marce adds  the club will be providing top coaches from Nou Camp to run the camps and  plan to train 10,000 children over the next three years. He further adds “We don't promise to create a Messi here, we will not promise anything that we are not sure of. For us this is a social project. We have to go step by step,” he said
On question of the talent training programme and its output their trainees' chances to turn national and International player or professional, Xevi said: “Even at La Masia, Barca's youth development centre we can't guarantee how many boys can turn professional. He added some players get to top fast and many progress at their pace.Many  factors economic social influence a player to turn professional. Wait for it the  time will tell number of talent we can create from these camps,” he said.
